Zipper End
carry and shine
As you can tell by the name, a zipper end is hardware used to cover the end of a zipper. This way of finishing the exposed end of a zipper is sleek and adds some bling.
If you need zippered bag to open wide, you’ll want to use a zipper that is longer than the bag opening. The “tail” of the zipper will be loose and visible. For continuous coil zippers that you cut to size, using a zipper end is a must. For finished (sized) zippers, a zipper end makes the bag look polished.
Hardware zipper ends are an alternative to fabric or leather zipper tabs that are sewn onto the end of the zipper.
It is also referred to as: zipper cord end, cord end, zipper stopper
Size Matters
Zipper ends typically are not sold by size, but only by name. They are designed to be universally sized to fit any zipper that is folded to a pointed shape.
You will need to make sure your folded zipper fits inside the zipper end you intend to use. This means that the layers of zipper teeth and zipper tape need to fit, and the tiny set screw needs to be able to secure it in place.
A #3 pocket zipper, for example, is too small and thin for most hardware zipper ends, while a #7 metal zipper might be too thick.
Zipper ends are ideally meant to be used with #4.5 and #5 zippers.

Common Styles
Zipper ends most commonly come in a rectangular shape, but are also available in other shapes. They are typically narrower than the width of a zipper, so the zipper needs to be folded to a point to fit into the hardware. They secure with a tiny set screw that is only visible on the underside of the zipper.
